From Apprentice to Director: Career Pathways at LTZ Group
When most people think about barbering, they think about haircuts, fades and customer service. At LTZ Group, we see something much bigger.
We believe barbering can be the start of a lifelong career journey. It can provide opportunities to gain qualifications, develop leadership skills, manage teams, build businesses and create a future that extends far beyond standing behind a barber chair.
That belief has shaped everything we do across LTZ Group.
More Than a Barber Shop
LTZ Group was founded on a simple principle: invest in people, not just professions.
Across our brands, including LTZ Barbers, LTZ Training Academy and F.AF Creative Space, our focus is on creating opportunities for individuals to develop personally and professionally.
Whether someone joins us as an apprentice with no experience, a newly qualified barber looking to improve their skills, or an experienced professional seeking leadership opportunities, our goal remains the same: help people achieve their potential.
Starting the Journey
Many members of our team begin through an apprenticeship or training programme.
Through LTZ Training Academy, learners can access:
Government-funded barbering apprenticeships
Level 2 Barbering Qualifications
Level 3 Advanced Barbering Qualifications
Private barber training courses
Specialist barbering programmes
One-to-one coaching and development
For many learners, this is their first step into the industry. For us, it is the first step in a much longer journey.
Building Skills and Confidence
Technical barbering skills are important, but they are only part of the equation.
We encourage our team to develop wider skills including:
Customer experience
Communication
Leadership
Business awareness
Coaching and mentoring
Professional development
Teamwork and accountability
Our aim is to create professionals who understand both the craft of barbering and the principles of running successful businesses.
Opportunities Beyond the Chair
One of the biggest misconceptions about the barbering industry is that career progression is limited.
At LTZ Group, we actively create pathways beyond day-to-day barbering.
Career opportunities can include:
Senior Barber roles
Barber Manager positions
Training and Assessor roles
Academy leadership positions
Operational leadership responsibilities
Brand development opportunities
Business ownership and partnership opportunities
As the organisation grows, so do the opportunities available to the people within it.
Developing Future Leaders
Leadership development is a key part of our long-term strategy.
We want people who demonstrate commitment, professionalism and ambition to have access to opportunities that may not traditionally exist within the barbering sector.
This includes involvement in projects, qualifications, mentoring, operational leadership and strategic development.
Our vision is to create an organisation where talented individuals can progress from apprentice to senior professional, from team member to leader, and in some cases, from employee to business owner.
A Growing Organisation
Today, LTZ Group continues to expand its activities across barbering, education and enterprise development.
Alongside our UK operations, we are developing international opportunities that will support training, education and professional development beyond our existing locations.
Our ambition is not simply to grow the number of barber shops we operate. Our ambition is to create an organisation that develops people, builds careers and creates opportunities for future generations.
Looking Ahead
The barbering industry offers far more than many people realise.
For those willing to learn, develop and embrace new opportunities, it can become a platform for education, leadership, entrepreneurship and personal growth.
At LTZ Group, we remain committed to helping people take that journey.
Because success is not defined by where you start.
It is defined by where you are willing to go.
