Why LTZ Invests in the Next Generation of Barbers

At LTZ Group, we believe joining the business should be the beginning of someone’s development.

Whether someone joins as an apprentice, a newly qualified barber or an experienced professional, we want them to have opportunities to strengthen their skills, grow in confidence and build a future within the business.

Developing our own people has always been central to how we work.

Learning Within the Business

Much of that development happens through everyday experience: working alongside colleagues, receiving feedback, discussing techniques and learning how to manage the demands of a busy barbershop.

LTZ supports its team through practical coaching, mentoring, additional skills training and continuing professional development (CPD). This helps our people improve their technical work while developing consultation, customer service, communication and commercial awareness.

Where employees undertake apprenticeships or regulated qualifications through our partnership with Achievement Training & Skills Ltd (ATS), those programmes sit within ATS’s delivery and quality framework. LTZ’s own staff development continues alongside and beyond that formal learning.

Development Beyond Qualification

Achieving a qualification is an important milestone. Becoming a consistently capable barber takes continued practice, reflection and support.

Our team members need to understand different clients, make sound decisions, manage their appointments and deliver work they can take pride in.

As their experience grows, their development needs change. One person may need support with a particular technique. Another may be ready to mentor an apprentice, build their client base or take greater responsibility within the shop.

Our role is to recognise those needs and help each person move forward.

Creating Opportunities to Progress

We are proud to see people develop their careers within LTZ.

For some, success means becoming an exceptional barber with a loyal client base. Others want to become a Senior Barber, support colleagues, manage a shop or move towards training and leadership.

There is no single route that everyone must follow. Progression depends on ambition, capability, performance and the opportunities available.

As the business grows, we want our people to understand what different roles involve and what they need to develop to be ready for them.

Developing Our Future Leaders

Being a skilled barber does not automatically prepare someone to lead a team. Leadership needs deliberate development too.

We want future leaders to understand how to set expectations, give constructive feedback, maintain standards and support people through difficulties. They also need to understand the commercial responsibilities of running a successful shop.

Through coaching, experience and increasing responsibility, we help team members develop these capabilities over time.

Several of LTZ’s leaders began their journeys within the business as apprentices or barbers. Their progression shows our team what can become possible through sustained learning, commitment and opportunity.

Building LTZ Through Its People

Investing in our staff strengthens the whole business.

When individuals become more capable, clients receive a better service. When experienced colleagues share their knowledge, the wider team improves. When people are prepared for greater responsibility, the business has stronger foundations for growth.

We want our staff to see a future at LTZ and understand how we can help them work towards it.

Developing People. Building Brands. Creating Legacies.
